We love that California’s First Theatre is back open for the community!

Check out the third annual First Theatre Fest on Saturday, September 5, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at this historic Monterey treasure, which dates back to the 1840s and reopened in 2024 after being closed for more than two decades. Enjoy a fun, free day featuring live theatre, poetry and music on the historic stage, delicious local food, seven artisan makers, complimentary refreshments in the historic saloon, and hands-on family activities with California State Parks.

No tickets or reservations are needed—just come and enjoy a wonderful day of history, arts and community at California’s First Theatre at Pacific and Scott streets in Monterey!
