Please note! Happy Holidays! There will be 2 hours free parking for Monterey County Locals with ID from November 23rd - December 24, 2018, courtesy of the City of Monterey and 2 hours free parking in the West Parking Garage and there is also parking in the East Garage is $7 per day. Free MST Trolley to the Wharf from the East and West Parking Garages on Saturdays and Sundays. More details below.

ITN Monterey County
If you know of a senior or someone who is visually impaired who doesn't drive, check out www.itnmontereycounty.org. They can become a member of this non-profit organization and arrange for transportation for any purpose, including going to and from Monterey's Old Fisherman's Wharf. Volunteer drivers are also being sought to help drive on behalf of www.itnmontereycounty.org.   

Restrooms

There are convenient restrooms in the dark brown Harbormaster building.  There are also restrooms at the front left side of the Waterfront Lot adjacent to the Dali17 Museum and on the Wharf, halfway down on the left near the Big Fish Grill.

Stop by the Monterey Visitor Center at 401 Camino El Estero on Lake El Estero to obtain directions to Monterey's Old Fisherman's Wharf or other great Monterey attractions, coupon cards and special offers, brochures and other helpful information from the knowledgeable staff

Driving Directions:

From South (Carmel, Carmel Valley & Big Sur): Hwy 1, exit Munras towards the bay. Munras becomes Abrego, then Washington. Enter Wharf parking lot.

From East (Salinas): Take Hwy 1 SW. Exit Monterey. Proceed to 3rd light, turn right on Abrego. Becomes Washinton, then runs into Wharf parking lot.

From North (Seaside, Marina): Take Hwy 1 S. Exit Del Monte Ave. Proceed to intersection at Figueroa or Washington and turn right into Wharf parking lot.

From El Estero Visitors Center: Head west on Camino El Estero. Turn left onto Del Monte. Turn right at Figueroa into the Wharf parking lot.

From Pacific Grove, Monterey Bay Aquarium, & Cannery Row: Travel Lighthouse Avenue East. Go through tunnel at Del Monte. Turn left at either 1st or 2nd turn into Wharf parking lot.

Fisherman's Wharf is within walking distance from most downtown Monterey hotels (Portola Hotel, Monterey Marriott, Hotel Pacific, Monterey Hotel, Casa Munras, Casa Abrego and Merritt House, among others).

Old Fisherman's Wharf is open daily. Holiday hours vary but many merchants are open 365 days a year!

Parking

Parking is easy and affordable in Monterey. There are four parking facilities conveniently located near Old Fisherman's Wharf. Fees are economical and all lots are safe and clean. Handicapped parking available in all lots. Trailer parking available at lot located between Washington and Figueroa Street.

Courtesy of the City of Monterey, parking is free for 2 hours for locals Monday - Thursday with Monterey County ID or Student ID.  There is free bus parking for groups in the Waterfront Parking lot (Wharf 1 Lot), which is the closest parking lot to Fisherman's Wharf.

Please do not leave valuables in your vehicle. 

Waterfront Attendant Lot #1 -

Located between Washington Street (245 Washington) and Fisherman's Wharf. Best parking for Fisherman's Wharf, the Harbor/Marina and the Coastal Trail. RV parking available, 25' maximum length. Tour Bus Parking with passengers, loading zone provided. Hourly parking with an attendant, $1.00 per half-hour or fraction thereof, $15 maximum per day, Visa and MasterCard accepted.

Note:  Holiday Special - Two hour free parking with Monterey County ID courtesy of the City of Monterey between November 23-December 24, 2018.

Marina Lot (WF#2) -

Located between Washington Street and Wharf #2. Trailer pull through spaces available. Best parking for Fisherman's Wharf, the Marina and the Coastal Trail. Pay Station ticket dispensers, $1.50 per hour, $10.00 all day. Visa and MasterCard accepted. Change machine available. Enforced Everyday 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. 235 Spaces.

Municipal Wharf II -

Best parking for Municipal Wharf II, the Marina and the Monterey Beach. Pay Station ticket dispenser, $1.50 per hour, $10.00 all day, & Visa and MasterCard accepted. Enforced everyday 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. 129 spaces.

Depot Lot -

Located at Figueroa Street (269 Figueroa) and Wharf II. Best parking for Fisherman's Wharf, Wharf II, the Marina, Monterey Beach and the Coastal Trail. Pay Station ticket dispenser, $1.50 per hour, per space; $10.00 all day / $16.00 trailer pull through spaces. Visa and MasterCard accepted. Monthly permits available. No unattached trailers are allowed (Monterey City Code Sec. 20-86.5) Enforced everyday 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. 110 Spaces.

SP Lot -

Located at Figueroa Street and Wharf II. Best parking for Fisherman's Wharf, Wharf II, the Marina, Monterey Beach and the Coastal Trail. Pay Station ticket dispenser, $1.50 per hour, $10.00 all day. Enforced everyday 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. 30 spaces.

East Depot Lot -

Located Figueroa Street (285 Figueroa)  and Window on the Bay Park. Gravel lot, best parking for Wharf II, the Marina, Monterey Beach and the Coastal Trail. Pay Station ticket dispenser $1.50 per hour, $10.00 all day. No unattached trailers are allowed. (Monterey City Code Sec. 20-86.5) Visa and MasterCard accepted. Enforced everyday 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. 50 Spaces.

Monterey Bay Park -

Best parking for Window on the Bay Park, Monterey Beach and the Coastal Trail. Pay Station ticket dispenser, $1.50 per hour, $10.00 all day/$16.00 trailer pull through spaces. Visa, MasterCard and American Experss accepted. Enforced everyday from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. 34 spaces.

Downtown West Garage -

Located at 340 Tyler Street between Franklin Street and Del Monte Avenue. Good parking for Fisherman's Wharf and the Waterfront. Hourly parking with an attendant. First hour free, $.50 per twenty minutes or fraction thereof, $10 maximum per day, Visa, MasterCard and American Express accepted. For some special events and night entry, a flat rate will be charged at entry. Best parking for Window on the Bay Park, Monterey Beach and the Coastal Trail. Pay Station ticket dispenser, $1.50 per hour, $10.00 all day/$16.00 trailer pull through spaces. Visa and MasterCard accepted. Enforced everyday from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. 34 spaces. Maximum vehicle height is 6-feet 8-inches. There are two free electric vehicle charging parking stations located in the first floor of the garage near the Franklin Street entrance.

Downtown East Garage -

Located on Washington and Tyler Street between Franklin Street and Del Monte Avenue (340 Tyler Street). Best parking for Conference Center and Downtown. Good parking for Fisherman's Wharf and the Marina. Gate operated entrances, $7 flat entry fee per day, accepts coin, bills and Visa, MasterCard and American Express credit cards. Monthly permits available.  Maximum vehicle height is 6-feet 8-inches.  590 spaces.

Heritage Harbor Parking Lot -

Located on Scott Street above Pacific Street, spaces are available and just 2 short block from the Wharf.

MST Free Trolley

Catch the Wave! Ride the convenient City of Monterey Free MST Trolley year-round to the head of the Wharf with the following schedule.

After Labor Day weekend, the Trolley will operate from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends until Memorial Day, when it will resume daily summer service, and will include the Martin Luther King Jr. and Presidents’ Day holidays. The free MST Trolley departs every 10-15 minutes transporting visitors and locals between downtown Monterey, Fisherman's Wharf, Cannery Row and the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Old Fisherman's Wharf does not have a Lost & Found. Please contact the Monterey Police Department's Non-Emergency phone number at (831) 646-3914.

Cents of Change

Monterey's Old Fisherman's Wharf is pleased to feature one of the City of Monterey's "Cents of Change" bright orange meters at the head of the Wharf. 100 percent of all donations will go to city funding for homeless programs that provide emergency housing, food, family reunification and other emergency services.
