Parking at the Waterfront Lot

GPS: Enter 201 Washington Street, Monterey, CA 93940, or 245 Figueroa Street for the main parking lot entrance. GPS directions to the Wharf itself may be inaccurate.
Parking rate: $2 per hour, with a $14 daily maximum.
Double spaces: $2.50 per hour or $22 all day.
Enforcement hours: 9:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m., daily.
Prepayment required: The former Marina Lot and Waterfront Lot now operate together as one self-pay Waterfront Lot.
How to pay: Use a parking lot pay station or the ParkMobile app.
ParkMobile zone: 21031. Download the app and enable email/text alerts so you can extend your parking time if needed.
Pay station instructions: Insert your credit card with the magnetic stripe facing down. Press the HELP button if you need assistance.
Parking assistance: Call 831-646-3953 on weekdays or 831-646-3967 on weekends. A roving attendant may also be available.
Accessible parking: Designated spaces are available in off-street lots and garages. There is no discounted accessible-parking rate at the Waterfront Lot.
Safety reminder: Do not leave valuables in your vehicle.

Additional Parking and RV Information

Municipal Wharf II: $2 per hour or $14 all day; 129 spaces; enforcement from 9:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. daily.
RV parking: Permitted in the Depot Lot, East Depot Lot and Waterfront Lot, subject to availability.
Reservations: RV spaces cannot be reserved; parking is first-come, first-served.
Overnight parking: RVs may park overnight where permitted, but sleeping or camping in vehicles is prohibited under Monterey City Code Section 20-85.
Trailers: Unattached trailers are prohibited under Monterey City Code Section 20-86.5.
RV questions: Call the City of Monterey Parking Office at 831-646-3953.

Free MST Trolley — Seasonal Service

Season: Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.
Hours: 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
Stops: Downtown Monterey, Old Fisherman’s Wharf, Cannery Row and the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
Wharf stop: Near the small parking circle at the head of the Wharf.
Fare: Free.

Driving Directions

From Carmel, Carmel Valley or Big Sur: Take Highway 1 to the Munras Avenue exit. Continue toward the bay; Munras becomes Abrego Street, then Washington Street.
From Salinas: Take Highway 1 southwest, exit toward Monterey, turn right on Abrego Street and continue onto Washington Street.
From Seaside or Marina: Take Highway 1 south, exit Del Monte Avenue and turn right at Figueroa or Washington Street.
From El Estero Visitors Center: Head west on Camino El Estero, turn left on Del Monte Avenue, then right on Figueroa Street.
From Pacific Grove, Cannery Row or the Aquarium: Take Lighthouse Avenue east through the tunnel toward Del Monte Avenue, then turn left into the waterfront parking area.

The Wharf is also within walking distance of many downtown Monterey hotels, including Portola Hotel & Spa, Monterey Marriott, Hotel Pacific, Monterey Hotel, Casa Munras, Casa Abrego and Merritt House.

On the Wharf: Halfway down on the left, near Rockfish Harbor Grill, and behind Monterey Bay Silver.

Lost and Found

There is no Lost and Found at Old Fisherman’s Wharf.
To report a lost item, call the Monterey Police Department at 831-646-3830 and select the Records Department.
Wharf merchants are asked to contact police when they find items such as wallets or keys.

Spare change? Monterey's Old Fisherman's Wharf is pleased to feature one of the City of Monterey's "Cents of Change" bright orange meters at the head of the Wharf across from Harbor House Gifts. 100 percent of all donations will go to city funding for homeless programs that provide emergency housing, food, family reunification and other emergency services.

Hometown Medical Supplies - This company rents an electric wheelchair (San Jose - but they do deliver to Monterey). There are no wheelchair rentals at the Wharf but there may be some companies that rent wheelchairs in Monterey, Salinas or other nearby cities.

Please note that the Wharf is paved and flat and appropriate for wheelchairs and walkers.
