2025 Monterey Walk to End Alzheimer’s Paint The Town Purple At Old Fisherman’s Wharf in Monterey

September 11, 2025, Monterey, CA –– The Alzheimer’s Association invites everyone to join the fight to end Alzheimer’s and other dementia by participating in the 2025 Monterey Walk to End Alzheimer’s Paint the Town Purple at Old Fisherman’s Wharf in Monterey. Check out all of the deep purple flags and signage now on site in advance support of this important event on Saturday, October 18, 2025.

The Wharf businesses that are participating in this event are showing their support in the fight against Alzheimer’s and all other dementias by decorating their businesses and the wharf purple and helping people register for the world’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research.

According to Wendy Brickman, President, Fisherman’s Wharf Association, “Old Fisherman’s Wharf is proud to support the 2025 Monterey Walk to End Alzheimer’s and all of the very important work done by the Alzheimer’s Association. To help raise awareness, the Wharf has been decorated with vibrant deep purple flags and signage as part of their campaign to “Paint the Town Purple. We are also delighted that they will have an information and advance sign up table at the 180th Wharf Birthday Party on the afternoon of October 12, 2025."

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s® - Monterey County is on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Custom House Plaza, Monterey next to Old Fisherman’s Wharf. While there is no fee to register for Walk, all participants are encouraged to raise critical funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support and advance research toward methods of prevention, treatment, and a cure.

Registration and check in for the walk are at 8:00 AM. The Promise Garden ceremony, a

mission-focused experience that signifies solidarity in the fight against the disease will begin at 9:00 AM. The flower colors displayed during the Walk represent people’s connection to Alzheimer’s and their personal reasons for ending the disease.  The Walk is from Custom House Plaza to the Aquarium and back following the ceremony.
