Here's details about the fun to see at the Wharf parking lot, World's Toughest Row teams:

As we approach the one-month mark until the start of the World’s Toughest Row – Pacific 2024 on June 8th, the anticipation builds in Monterey Harbor. This year, nine teams hailing from the US, Australia, France, UK, and Ireland will gather ready to embark on the 2,800-mile journey to Hanalei Bay, Kaua’i. Their mission? To raise millions of dollars for their selected charities, while pushing the boundaries of physical and mental endurance, and confronting Mother Nature at her best and worst.

History will be made on many levels in this year’s race, but notably the most consequential and groundbreaking is that for the very first time in the sports history, the number of women competing in this year’s race will be higher than the male.

This year’s Pacific race will see a noteworthy shift with an incredible 60% women compared to men. A true celebration of an encouraging and positive upturn in the diversity and equality in a growing & progressive sport.

The competing teams will arrive in Monterey to finalise preparations, pass their inspections and ensure all safety protocols are in place from May 31st where the boat park will be set up on the waterfront parking lot in Monterey Harbor and open to the public. Then from June 5th, the teams will launch into the water to complete their final checks, before the official race starts on June 8th. (Weather permitting).
